The commentators make it sound like Daniel and Sam made a great read on the guy, but it was obvious what he had. It was a big pair since he reraised preflop from early position and it wasnt aces or kings since he played it so agressively. Having the Q of diamonds was was an easy guess since if he didnt have it he would have had to think it over a bit before going all-in. He played like an amateur, everything he did showed what he had, he made decisions so quick.

The difference is the number of bad hands and bad calls that they make. You're right, no amount of skill can beat good cards playing a ton of hands the way the majority of people who play poker do it. But by picking your spots, making informed reads, knowing your odds, and so on... you greatly increase your chances of winning in the long-run. The best player doesn't always win, but it's no coincidence that a handful of people who are recognized as the best players constantly make final tables.

The steaming donks put these pro's at the final tables, not these pros' skills. There is always a talker at every table. If you listen to the talks, you would think you are playing against poker gods. Any serious poker players should learn to read the cards and figure out odds and pay off value of their own hands. Looking for tells would give you no more than a 50% chance to be wrong or right. It is not that hard to act nervous while putting all in with an unbeatable hand.
