This is a CLASSIC case of someone not playing their hand, but their opponent. Phil practically told everybody he was sitting on AK with his comment of "I think he has Ace Queen". Dragomir called knowing he could still get away from the hand if an ace or king hit the flop. (since he KNEW what Phil had) Yes, it was a bonus to Dragomir that a 10 hit on the flop, but Phil threw up the white flag by checking the flop. If he thought the guy had AQ, he should have bet post flop, instead of a check.

I've seen plenty idiots at the table before, i've been one myself...but this Dragomir though is very special. In a class of his own.

Dragomir wouldnt know the difference between his and Phil's hand if the cards were dealt face up.
Phil wouldda checked if a King hit the flop just to give Drago enough rope to hang himself. K-10-2 lets say. Dragomir raises weather a 10 hits or not cuz he's an idiot. Idiots play retarded post-flop as well as pre-flop. They dont get magically smarter post-flop.

If you are sitting on 104 suited..and you put your opponent on AK and call anyway...then you are truly an idiot! Phil reraised him because he had AK and he figured that his opponent was sitting on some sort of drawing hand too, like AQ. He checked on the flop because he was out of position and did not connect with the board. He saved himself some money by doing that because Dragomir would have simply raised his bet on the flop and Phil would've had to fold anyway. Phil played this one right.

Phil did one thing wrong. In this case, he talked too much. If he reraises without talking like he did, Dragomir might have folded. Dragomir's call of the reraise had its intended effect; making Phil think he was beaten preflop. (aces or kings) Again, Phil's mistake was talking too much. Everybody at the table could have told you Phil's hand before he flipped it over.

All this being said, to Phil's credit, he searched out Dragomir the next day before play began and sincerely apologized for his actions in this hand. (This was the last hand of the session) Dont' think I'm dogging Phil out here; just giving credit to Dragomir for using his position to get the best of Hellmuth this one time.

At the end of the day Dragomir said it perfect, it cost him 10k to play and Phil nothing so what if he calls with that hand its his chips and he paid for them, if he loses them thats his problem,there is a whole world of players like Dragomir so pros and players should adapt to this type of play, its just the way it is. Sick of people saying that this is the way you should play or should not of called that raise, you show me the rule where a player cant call with any two cards....
