I wouldn't go all in with 2 8s but just letting you know, Jerry Yang, who was 2007 wsop champ, won with 2 8s against Tuan Lam who had Ace and Queen diamonds. it honestly depends on flop but 2 8s are damn weak against high cards. i had pocket of queens but lost to pocket of 8s in casino before. guy with pocket 8s got 4 of a kind while i got full house.

LOL, go fuck yourself, fuckin dumbass. 2 8s aren't weak but all in with 2 8s are damn weak. Think about it. there are 6 cards higher than 8 out of 13. 6 higher and 6 lower. Someone can just have one of the higher 6 cards and if one of them hits the flop, you're hella fucked. Only chance of hitting 8s on flop is hella low bcz ur chance is hitting 1-2 cards out of remaining cards dealer has in his hand waiting to be dealt. 2/32, and that's IF the remaining deck contains 2 8s. that's 6.25%.

you idiot, all that matters is that pocket 8s have ANY 2 over cards beat in terms of percentage (aprox. 55%), that means even AFTER all the community cards are turned. Ofc it's a diff story if you're up against a higher pocket pair, then yea you're fucked 81% of the time

It's not a mistake. Going all in gives yourself a chance to double up your chip stack. This means that if you think you have a 50% or more chance of winning the hand you should take it. You have to look at it from a mathematical point of view, unless you're almost sure that the opponent has you dominated by higher pocket pair.
