Doyle Dykes -- "Chet Stuff"
Video Description: This is some "Chet Stuff" Doyle picked out at a little concert in Gilroy this year. I reserved tickets four months in advance, but the front row was reserved for people who went to the church, I think... So that's why you'll see some of the shot blocked by peoples' heads. :D
He starts out with "Oh By Jingo, Oh By Gee", throws a few tunes in the middle and ends with "12th Street Rag" and even the Woody Woodpecker theme! The only part of this I've taken the time to figure out is the lick at the very end, which I though was an illsuion of sorts -- even after I had figured it out -- unil I began to practice the run myself. Shoot me an e-mail for tablature of that bit (Jer1400@gmail.com).
I'm a really big Doyle expert, but not a big Chet follower, so if any friend of Chester's could tell me the names of those mystery songs that sure would be a good help.
Much thanks to my friend, Loc (tienloc47), who was sittin' next to me and shot the video. :)
God bless, guys. Amen.

I had a taylor for a while. Got rid of it and was happy I did. I've played about 100 of them. Can't get a single one that I like. The 4000 dollar ones are just as impersonal as the 400 dollar ones. I also quickly sampled Doyle vids here, and even after a dozen or so in 5 mins, not a single one of them had ANY bottom end, or rich tone. Tommy killed with the Maton in the same vid for tone. re:"The best": Scotty Anderson is a FORCE OF NATURE.
seriously good tone.
I play some single notes on an impromptu end section for "Strawberry Fields" on here with a piano player. Tell me what you think of the tone.
