Why is flush a better hand then straight if it's more percent chance to get a flush then a straight??

because you can get a straight whether your hands are suited or not. With a flush, you generally have to have 2 suited cards. Therefore, going in with any random hand, you have a better chance to pick up a straight than a flush.

I don't think that was what he meant.. He's probably thinking about the fact that the flushdraw percentege is higher than the straightdraw percentege. That's because you have 9 outs to make a flush after flopping a flushdraw and with a straightdraw you're only getting 8 outs.

outs are cards that you think will give you the best hand after the flop. YOu only consider outs if you are behind in a hand.

The flush is still harder to make from scratch.
The example given here is a flush DRAW and a straight draw.
On the draw a flush has 9 outs and a double ended straight has only 8.
