It was a very good laydown. Very very hard thing to do but always the correct decision if you are certain an oppenent has AA. What people seem to forget is that if your opponent has AA and you have KK then your kings may as well be a pair of deuces i.e. you need to make a set. KK looks nicer than 22 but if you are certain an opponent has AA then it's essentially the same hand except that K can make two str8's and a deuce only one.

Obviously KK is a better hand than 22 but as i say if you are certain your opponent has the rockets then KK really is of little more value than 22. The hand above was a little more complicated because of the 3rd player showing strength also. For the record I would prob call with KK even if I thought he had AA. I would be wrong. Mahoney is a better player than me.

I don't think it was that good of a laydown. I mean, the first guy who went all in could have had A-K suited or Q's, and the other guy could have like Qs or even J's. I would never ever lay down KK pre-flop mainly cause odds are the other guy doesn't have AA, and it is most likely going to be a stupid fold. And even if he does have AA, you still have a little under 20% chance to win the hand.

Coming from a person who plays poker for a living, sometimes you gamble even if you know your beat preflop when the money is right. He did the correct read, but put that hand in a less skilled player and he will call and win, trust me ive been sucked out on in a similar situation I had AA vs KK vs JJ vs 66, and the Js setted while the KK still called. Nobody could believe the JJ and 66s were in there but thats what amatuers do make bad calls

i personally know d'mahoney and i know he is a great player. kk vs AA have really low chance to win. consider the pot odd this was really a great great laydwon. only amature will say that he hit the third king and that why he should not fold.

Maybe you have mistaken my comment but It is my saying in poker that sometimes DumbLuck beats real skill. I was saying amatuers are unable to lay down the lower pp in this situation and the PPQs made the bad call, while the PPKs made a proffesional lay down, but sometimes dumbluck beats skill.
