bad play by chan (i hate moneymaker) but try play this hand without seeing moneymakers hand, all johnny has is a King high! he must put chris on a pair of aces...... so he is basically going in on a draw with that perspective.
From chans perspective im putting moneymaker on A 8 with no hearts
therefore the odds are 55%/45% in favour of moneymaker, maybe he likes gambling and yes it was unlucky that money maker had hearts, but you cant go in when your behind

@dunboynee he was trying to get a flush ,or he needed a 2 for a straight. i don't think it was a bad decision because he didn't know chris had ace of hearts .

i know, but the reason Ivey. Antonius and the other big poker earners are so good at poker is not because they are lucky, the majority of the time they will have the best time when there is an all in.
Johnny is going all in with a Draw, the only draw that you have the best hand is an open ender straight flush draw.

Chan played it fine. He's practically a coinflip against AKo with that hand, and his checkraise will fold out a lot of better hands. He was unfortunate that MM had one of the worst possible holding he could be against.

@girlie347 I disagree with the point that the players were fish 15 years ago. Because of satellites a lot of players are coming in to the WSOP through them, not buying in for the $10000. only good poker players could afford that sort of money. As Doyle Brunson said, "Back then, every player was a good player. Nowadays, you could play for two days and not even come across a good player!"

Moneymaker is a good player but there is no debate kids, Johnny Chan's record is one of the best , period. TEN BRACELETS. He over played the hand but I'll take CHAN heads up over M. ANY DAY .
