this was a crazy bluff because he bet so small on the river to really look like he had the straight and wanted a call. He bet 1800 into a 4700 pot less that half the pot. Most players who would bluff there would bet around 3500. This makes what makes the high stakes games great because they are playing on so many levels

Probably the other guy had a Q or was over betting a tester. If he had a queen there wasnt much he could beat except a bluff and as someone else said if was a value bet bluff. on the flip side you could also say its right for the other guy to call as the pot odd were favorable.

That was actually not a very good bluff. Yes it worked, however, thats pretty standard play.... But thats what I expect from Matusow.

lol how is that a crazy bluff, he probably put the guy on a pair of Qs, and he flopd a flush draw and chased and missd and the only way to win the pot is to bluff at the river when the 8 came, making a potential straight draw out there

ugh, he shoulda called, he was getting 6 to 1 i believe, and with matusows style, i think he would re-raise the flop with a flush draw. and he did limp, no raise preflop from matusow.

I'm guessing he had some small pockets like 55 or 77 and figured he had no chance. Still against Mike... maybe it was a bad fold. Still just a pretty standard poker hand. Definitely doesn't need to be on youtube.

first of all he only bited the pot one the river and was running for the flush (missed), that means 2 things either hes bluffing, or hes milking you with a better hand. the opponent played way too weak, so it was easy to stab at the pot and steal it away. overall it was a good laydown cause he played the hand weakly but calling that small bet wouldnt of hurt either (if your BR can accept the gameplay like this

Mike's opponent obviously had a middle pair or a bigger flush draw and gave up on the hand because he was out of position against a decent player.
Sorry to say, there is really nothing 'crazy' about this bluff.
