Seidel didnt play that as well as he could. When matusow reraised him after the flop... it was a bit wreckless to move all in - he could have EASILY been facing a two pair or a set.

You're right, you know what was the most interesting play though, when Mike bet out on the flop, it made Seidel think he had like a pair of 8's most likely, and nothing more, good playing by Mike there. :)

On an 8, 10, 2 flop? I think you are thinking too much from the mind set of a person who can see both hands. There is little chance he could be put on two pair with that flop. Maybe a set but that would be a stretch as well.

When you get insurance, you basically insure yourself against cards. In this case, Mike wanted to insure himself against a deuce or an ace. They lay down some odds depending on the odds for that particular outcome and if Mike were to get unlucky, e.g. a deuce or an ace hits the turn, Mike would have gotten some of his money back, depending on the odds they agreed upon.

Seidel only had 5 outs, Mike was a big favouraite but it swings when you go all in with 2 pair. Mike was right to turn down the insurance even though Seidel hit runner runner.

Just a technicality but on the river, Seidel actually had 8 outs, the other 2 aces, 3 deuces, and 3 sevens. And I'm not really sure how Mike being a big favorite swings when you go all in with 2 pair.

thats a pretty awkward sort of a hand.
mike was right for calling an all-in with top 2 pair (even if he shouldnt have been in it with 10 8 to begin with), but seidel couldnt do what many people we know cant do often, in that he wasnt prepared to lay down AA after a re-raise.
