I don't get how some people see this as pocket aces trapping Hua with trip 7s when pocket Aces was Ace away from being eliminated. You can't trap people when you're losing or you don't have good certainty that you have the best hand. Learn the meaning of the word TRAP before responding to me with dumb fucking comments. Fucking fishes and donks. Eastgate eliminating Tiffany Michelle is good example of TRAPPING with pocket Aces.

EdDy4RheelZ..
the guy played aces to perfection & got as unlucky as you can get on a flop.
that's like 2% occurence.
limp with a big hand under the gun, get raised. flat call knowing that your hand was AT LEAST 80% favourite..
= 1 definition of trapping,
because as lagulteN said, a continuation raise will almost always come... at which point the aces are fully disguised.
a paired flop is great for aces.
the guy with 7/2 is just a lucky fish who couldn't even pick out weakness in a dictionary

well ok, if the guy only had 250k chips, and the bet was 60k chips, plus the other guys blind, the correct move would be to go all in there and not just call. he can win about 1/4 to 1/3 of his stack in chips just by taking it down pre-flop. Why even give this guy a chance to hit? To win a few more chips? If he called the all in bet pre flop, then chances are he would either have kings, queens, or maybe AK, all of which are smashed by his aces. If not, its a fold.

i call people who i am sure have aces, kings, or queens, with any 2 cards. Thats implied odds there. If i hit, i know they are going to bet very strong, and theres my odds right there for my preflop call. Bet $10 preflop for a chance to win $50 - $60 plus more.

I was talking to some of these idiots who were saying that pocket Aces were trapping the whole time. And yes, I agree with you about implied odds. Since high pocket pairs have horrible implied odds, they have to bet VERY aggressively during pre-flop for people with any 2 cards to suffer a LOT if they can't hit anything on board. So eventually, if the raise is too high during pre-flop people with good implied odds will fold because they can't risk too much on any 2 cards.
Some of these ... ( 2 weeks ago by EdDy4RheelZ)
Some of these idiots thought pocket aces was trapping the whole time. Honestly, I've folded pocket rockets after flop because board didn't look good. Advanced trapping by limping in with pocket aces only work if they're willing to fold their pocket aces if board doesn't look good. Otherwise, they fall into people's trap who have good implied odds.
if I was guy with ... ( 2 weeks ago by EdDy4RheelZ)
if I was guy with pocket aces, what I would've done was reraise Hua during pre-flop when Hua raised. THen he'll know that his implied odds are horrible and not worth calling or reraising. If you have high pocket pairs, you dont' want people to see the board since you have horrible implied odds, so you reraise high enough to make people devastate their chips and odds if they can't hit what they need.

You sound like a guy who just read the wikipedia page on implied odds. If you're calling with anything against aces, kings, and queens, you're losing a shitload of money, I'm sure.

He played it well, Furst just got lucky. 19 times out of 20, Hua wins that hand. Furst deserved to lose a ton of money for playing his hand the way he did.

Take this for example, a tight player put a re raise up to 20 dollars total preflop. I had a 7 5 and was going to instantly fold, but he got about 4 callers before it was my turn, and the raiser had about 60 left after the bet. I call and hit 2Pair on the flop. I risked 20 in order for a chance at about (with implied odds) 160. I just like it when i know what my opponent has, even if i know im behind. He could have KK or QQ, and if an ace hit i can represent that.
thats true, but ... ( 2 weeks ago by BriDirt)
thats true, but most of the time the bet preflop is normal, in order to disguise the hand. The only time the bet it much bigger is if the aces are re raising another bet, then they and rid of implied odds.

I wish he had won with the 72. It would be the example that people always cite of why you need to price crappy hands out pre-flop. Until then there's a lot of money to be made.
