Yeah, you're right he should of bet the flop. But do you think Sammy is folding a flush draw? We all know that answer to that question. Phil actually saved himself money by not betting the flop.
Phil's problem is ...( 3 months ago by 3Solidus)
Phil's problem is if he has the best pre-flop hand that he will automatically win. He tries to trap with single pairs when he should really just seize the pot especially with a potential flush draw.
WTF... Why did this ...( 3 months ago by JoschMH)
WTF... Why did this comment get +2? Phil didn't know a Diamond would come on 4th! If you think a player's drawing YOU WANT TO BET coz you want to make him pay for his draw. If Phil knew Farha had the Diamond draw he WOULD've bet. Phil probably had him on nothing coz y'know how loose Sam is. It wasn't a bad flop to slow play TPTK.
I agreed with you ...( 3 months ago by FlexMasterFlex)
I agreed with you until you said this wasn't a bad flop to slow play top top. You are dead wrong, there is a straight draw possibility and a flush draw possibility. Sammy Farha just happend to have both.
What'd I say? Now I ...( 3 months ago by JoschMH)
What'd I say? Now I have -2. I only spoke the truth. I wanted to reply properly but it's way too wordy and I don't have enough space. Farha's loose so theoretically, Hellmuth could be 'scared' of any flop that's why he's not 2 scared of this one. Not 2 mention the chance of Farha flopping either draw and then making it in the end. Hellmuth wanted Sam 2 catch up. BUT HEY - he's only an 11 time WSOP bracelet winner and former Main Event champ - what does he know?

Lets face it, if Phil had bet the flop he would have lost more chips than he did, Sammy Farha catches more cards than any of the other pros in my opinion

It's funny to hear Sammy referred to as "an inferior player" here, since he outplays Hellmuth constantly on HSP. I mean Sammy's style is unorthodox, but he has unlimited moneys anyway, so he can play as bad as he wants and not sweat the losses. He does it for the lulz.

He didn't have position. I would say it is a bad call if Sammy invested a big portion of his stack. It can never be called a good call though. You are putting your in money behind, and you don't know if the other guy has AA or KK. So even if you hit top pair, you can't be sure. Sammy caught the dream flop. Lucky for him. Not a bad play, but it would have been a good fold.
I think Sam played ...( 3 days ago by jpzzzz)
I think Sam played the hand perfectly. Called the flop with QJ suited is very acceptable. He checked the turn, Hellmuth didn't show any strength. Got the nuts and he felt Hellmuth had something so he bet 50k and bet 80k after. I felt Hellmuth was even ready to call for 100k. Imo, the bad play is Hellmuth not folding his AKs. But I wasn't there and I'm seeing both cards, so tell me if I'm wrong. =)
But with a 3rd ...( 2 days ago by jpzzzz)
But with a 3rd suited card on the turn, don't you think Hellmuth needed to reassess the situation? Farha just used his passive trap (everybody knows he's aggressive) to make Hellmuth call. The question I'm asking myself is why would Hellmuth be mad at Farha? I still think Hellmuth made a bad call by forgetting Farha is aggressive and didnt have to have pocket pairs or AK.
And then he showed his class when the cards were shown....
