You're bluffing anytime you don't think you have the best hand. Sometimes you're bluffing with the best hand. In this case, they're both bluffing. Nobody has a made hand. One of them could have had the seven.

You're basically bluffing anytime you bet without a made hand, unless you believe your ace high is the best hand at the moment. There's no such thing as bluff vs bluff? Do you think either one of these guys thought they had the best hand? They're both bluffing. Your point is weird. Are you saying that a player who bets a set is bluffing if his opponent has a higher set? The pocket cam seems to be screwing up players understanding of the games nomenclature.

A good run? He's been playing in the TOP cash games in Vegas for at least four or five years running. Plus, last year's poker data reports show he averaged more money per hour in cash games online than any other hotshot online player - somewhere in the neighborhood of $8000 an hour. He doesn't play many tournaments - it's chump change to him. He's the real deal. You just haven't learned anything from his game yet. Street punk? He's buddies with Barry Greenstein for God's sake.

If you make a list of the TOP PROS in Vegas poker and Ivey's not on the list, forget it. You must have a problem with Ivey's suntan. Anytime I've strolled through the Bellagio by "Bobby's Room" when the BIG GAME is on, there's Ivey sitting at the table. Four or five years now. That ain't luck, my boy. Take a mortgage worth of cash and go down there and play him some night and see how it goes.

quoted for truth. when you can consistently beat the highest stakes with amazing discipline (he has a 3 buy-in stop loss when playing heads-up) you can consider yourself the best.

Ivey is not a good player, or even a great player. He is, quite simply, a phenomenal player. A master of the game. There is no argument.

im guessing he has a pretty good tell to make this play here. at the end jackson is priced in to call with 72 if phil shoves all in and he goes ahead and pushes anyways

look at how jackson reacts when ivey asks him how much he has left. he stutters and there is no confidence about the way he replys, betraying his hand. Ivey might think that he COULD have a 7, but due to such nervousness, knows he doesn't have a J. The all in is a bet that jackson couldn't call, even with a 7. very good read by phil ivey.

Yeah Phil Ivey made a bluff pay there, but his opponent had 6 high... so the decision to fold wasn;t to hard to make

Phil was basically given that hand. That other dude gave off so many tells all Ivey had to do was eye down the situation Ivey won that not just because he showed confidence but in his mind wasn't thinking on terms of what did i have in my hand or if i'm winning in his mind he tricked his mind (basically just rewired his brain) into believing he had the winning and it's of no coincidence or irony that he ended up winning the pot :) i could beat ivey and he'd justify it as luck on my part

yes there is no bluff vs bluff because you're not bluffing when you got the best hand... but in this case none of the playeres has a hand so their both bluffing because they both think their hands suck... even though one has the best hand
why would jackson bet so much at the flop and scare ivey away
